Summer 1906 edition of Yggdrasill; created by the students of Ashburne House. The illustrated cover has the title spelt 'Iggdrasill' and Ashburne House Magazine, Summer Term 1906. The cover has been illustrated with stylised foliation and flowers, rendered in white ink or paint. The 'Chronicle' opens the magazine on folio one, this has been penned by the warden Hilda .D. Oakeley. It is followed on the verso of folio three by an account of the Ashburne House Picnic. On the verso of folio four is an untitled poem and opposite on folio five is a letter to the Editor and the 'dear Ashburnians'. The correspondent is old Ashburnian Margaret Phillips and is an account of some of her travels in China. Following this on the verso of folio seven is a poem entitled 'With Apologies to the Daltonian'. Next is a lengthy piece, another submission by Margaret Phillips, entitled 'A visit to Naples and Pompeii' another travel account that has been illustrated with postcards and original photographs. This is followed on folio thirteen by a report on the 'Ancoats baby party'. The annual examination results appear on folio fourteen, Alice J. Taylor (Alison Uttley) is listed as obtaining third class Physics Hons. The magazine concludes on folio fifteen with the 'Honours list' detailing academic prizes won by Ashburnians in 1906.
