Description:
Four monochrome illustrations on one bookplate. Bryant gives the title of the first image as 'Juno, Columba, and Rhoia'. Juno (Roman goddess of marriage) is holding a sceptre with a dove (columba in Latin) perched on it. Her other hand holds Rhoia (a pomegranate). The second image is titled 'Hermes' and shows the Greek god standing on a crocodile with various emblems around him. The third image is titled: Hippa Triceps. The Roman goddess of agriculture Ceres is sometimes represented under this title with three horses heads. The fourth image is Hippa Phigalensium a goddess often represented with the head of a horse , sitting on a rock with a dolphin in one hand and a dove in the other. Below the frame in the bottom right corner is written 'Basire Sc.'.
