Description:
|
Single line engraving in black ink. Again Job in his cramped and destitute chamber is being instructed by God through a colossal vision. Job's group is suspended above a gigantic globe that is filled with the forms of the sinuous Behemoth and scaly Leviathan the biblical guardians of land and sea respectively. Their presence is obtrusive and not necessarily righteous, but it is clear that they visually and metaphorically occupy the entire sphere of the material world.
