Racial Discrimination in property development: Report of a formal investigation into Oaklawn Developments Ltd, Leicestershire by the Commission for Racial Equality (CRE).
Oaklawn Developments Ltd was a small property development company building houses and flats on a site in Leicester. By April 1988 the Company had built twenty bungalows on a site at Colby Drive, Thurmaston, Leicester.
In August 1987 the Commission was contacted with an allegation that
Oaklawn Developments Ltd was discriminating against prospective ethnic minority purchasers of the bungalows at Thurmaston.
The CRE considered the representations made by the Company and decided in February 1988 to embark upon a formal investigation.
