Description: 
Illuminated coat of arms possibly of the Nieri family of Lucca or the Angeli Nieri family of Bevagna. Azure a lion rampant or overall on a bend of the same three roses gules (3 rose di rosso su banda di oro su - leone rampante di oro su azzurro). Decoration: two illuminated initials ('I' in gold on a maroon ground and 'Q' in blue on a gold ground with blue, green and maroon flowers), in the inner margin a bar border outlined in gold of laurel leaves coloured green and maroon with red ribbons, in the upper margin 'PROVERBI' in blue letters on a white scroll shaded in pink and blue, green, and maroon flowers with gold dots and black pen-work, in the outer margin curling boughs of laurel leaves with red ribbons, a roundel outlined in gold containing the upper half of a man holding a book (St. Jerome) in maroon, and white and blue, green, and maroon flowers with gold dots and black pen-work; the lower margin has been removed and replaced with a different illuminated border containing a green laurel wreath with a coat of arms (a blue shield with a gold lion rampant, overall a gold bar with three red roses), and blue, green, and maroon flowers with gold dots and black pen-work in a similar manner as the rest.
