Decoration: late eighteenth century illuminated and painted three-sided foliate and floral border in blue, green and maroon with black pen-work and gold dots; in the lower margin late eighteenth century arms of George John Spencer, 2nd Earl Spencer (1758-1834). Quarterly of four, 1 & 4 argent and gules in the second and third quarters or a fret overall on a bend three escallops (Spencer), 2 & 3 sable a lion rampant on a canton argent a cross gules (Churchill).
