Decoration: on leaf [a1r] (fol. 13a) a six-line Italian (Roman, by 'the Master of the Barbo Missal') initial 'M' is supplied in maroon and yellow with white pen-work, on a gold ground edged in black; within the body of the letter green vine-stem scrolling ending in blue leaves on a blue ground; foliate and floral extensions into the inner and upper margins in blue, green, black, maroon, and white, with gold dots, a small bird in green, and a bird's head in green.
