Notebook on the separation from the church in Charles Wesley's hand. The notebook contains the following in Charles Wesley's hand: (a) detailed discussion of Methodist separation from the established church in response to the question 'Ought we to separate from the Church of England?'; (b) Ms copy letters dated 1755 between several correspondents namely John Wesley, Samuel Walker and Thomas Adam, discussing in detail the question of separation from the Anglican Church; (c) list of those present at the Leeds Conference of 1755 and a summary of the proceedings with particular regard to the separation question; (d) shorthand notes, consisting of probable transcripts of letters dated 1756.
