Description:
|
Internal view of room displaying numerous (unidentified) paintings. Dominating the image is a fire place, with a white [marble] mantelpiece, furnished with tongs and pokers. There is a prominent display of a photographic portrait, presumably of cotton manufacturer, Robert Platt (1802-1882), who had rented the property from the 7th Earl of Stamford. There is a partial view of a glass chandelier with distinctive spherical glass shades. Some damage to the photograph top left edge.
