Description:
Interior view of Lady Windsor's bedroom, St Fagans Castle, Cardiff. Showing the extravagantly carved Elizabethan four poster bed and carved fireplace with large tapestries hanging either side of it. Two sitting chairs with busy floral upholstery and a table and chair are at the foot of the bed. The table is set up as a desk with books, inkstand and quills. St Fagans Castle (Welsh: Castell Sain Ffagan) is an Elizabethan mansion in St Fagans, Cardiff, Wales, dating from the late 16th century. A medieval castle dating from the 13th century previously existed on the site. The house and remaining medieval fortifications are Grade I listed. The property was owned by successive Lord Windsors, Earl of Plymouth until 1947 when the Windsor-Clives gave the house and grounds to the Amgueddfa Cymru - National Museum Wales and the grounds subsequently became the site of the Welsh Folk Museum, now St Fagans National Museum of History. There is some slight scuffing to the print and some very small flaws in the print itself, likely sustained in the printing process rather than a flaw to the original plate or negative.
