Description:
A section of the wave of student graffiti which hit the Manchester University campus at the end of 1969 and the beginning of 1970 and formed part of the student protests at the prospective appointment of Arthur Armitage to the role of University Vice Chancellor in succession to the retiring Mansfield Cooper and what they perceived as the un-democratic and opaque process by which the position was filled; Taken from a position on the northern side of Dover St the shot is angled southwards towards the main entrance into the older section of the Economics and Social Studies building. On a section of the wall to the west of the doorway just beneath the sign identifying the building the following slogan has been roughly daubed in white paint 'No Dossiers'. Written on the reverse of the image is 'Economics Dover St'.
