21 lines. Connected with this incident the letter writer also refers to the Karaites (?) and someone described as an apostate (possibly the glassblower is meant). The fact that the letter starts with the familiar panegyric salutations found in inquiries to Abraham Maimonides has led Ezra Chwat to surmise that this is a legal inquiry to him. The father Abu 'l-Hassan appears in a list of donors (see Ashtor, p. 143). See Freimann for a similar case in one of Abraham's responsa.
