Description: 
Binding: wooden boards with silver gilt furniture: L-shaped corner pieces, 4 bosses + 1 central boss on both upper and lower boards. Two velvet covered straps with metal clasps (half of upper one missing) from the upper board join pins on the lower board. Metal frame with a 15th century parchment label under a transparent horn window which reads 'Canterbury talis in [Inglyshe?] or [Inglisshe?] writyn on p[ar]chement'. Board covering: cerise silk velvet, not contemporary with textblock (late C18th/19th?).
