Description:
General Prologue: the script is in black ink and there is an illuminated initial 'A' on pink and blue grounds. Lines and borders are ruled in black ink, with 36-38 lines per page. Written in England in one hand, the dialect and spelling include a significant number of West Midland and North Midland forms. The illuminated capital 'A' has a blurred, smudgy appearance of the ultramarine under the gold. Both the blue pigment and the manuscript text is affected.
