Description:
General Prologue: the script is in black ink and there is an illuminated initial 'A' on pink and blue grounds. Lines and borders are ruled in black ink, with 36-38 lines per page. Written in England in one hand, the dialect and spelling include a significant number of West Midland and North Midland forms. The text on this folio is rather abraded (the parchment is very thin and heavily pounced). There is a small amount of water staining and some pleating of the parchment towards the gutter. The illuminated capital 'A' has blurred, resulting in a smudgy appearance of the ultramarine under the gold.
