Description:
General Prologue: the script is in black ink and there is an illuminated initial 'T' on pink and blue grounds. Lines and borders are ruled in black ink, with 36-38 lines per page. Written in England in one hand, the dialect and spelling include a significant number of West Midland and North Midland forms. The text on this folio is rather abraded and the page is very dark (the parchment is very thin and heavily pounced). There is a small amount of water staining and some pleating of the parchment towards the gutter.
