Description:
General Prologue: the text begins with an initial 'W' in pink and blue shaded with white, on decorated gold grounds. There is a full frame illuminated foliate bar border. The script is in black ink and lines and borders are ruled in black ink. There are 36-38 lines per page. Written in England in one hand, the dialect and spelling include a significant number of West Midland and North Midland forms. On this folio the text is rather abraded and the page is very dark (the parchment is very thin and heavily pounced). There is a small amount of water staining and some pleating of the parchment towards the gutter.
