Description: The words 'Edward 2' are written in the top margin. Red rubrication and an illuminated initial ' W ' introduce the next tale. The illuminated initial ' W ' has possibly been inserted in error, as the text requires the word 'the' in the sentence which starts 'the Quene Isabelle and Sir Edwarde hire sone'. How King Edward hears of Queen Isabelle's arrival when he is at dinner, and how he does not expect her to have such a small army, and, fearing complicity of the English people, flees to Wales to muster troops there. Red rubrication and an illuminated initial ' A ' introduce the next tale, starting with how King Edward is afraid his people will hand him over to their queen. The written space is c.182 x 112 mm and the script is anglicana formata.
