The words 'Henry 3' are written in the top margin. There is a small hole in the vellum. The tale of a great famine in England, of civil war and of the battles of Lewes and Evesham. The written space is c.182 x 112 mm and the script is anglicana formata.

broþer þat was erl of Cornewaile and also of oþ(er)e repented him of þat oth þat he had made for to holde. þat lawe and ordinaunce: and sente to þe court of Rome to ben assoiled of þat oth þat he had made And in þat ȝere next comynge after was þe grete derthe of corn. in Engelond. for a quarter whete was worth .xxiiij s. and þe pore peple ete netles for hunger and oþ(er) e wedes and deide many a. m(l). for defaute of mete // And in þe .xlviij. ȝer of king Henries regne bigan werre and debate bituene him and his lordes for enchesou(~) that he had broke þe couenauntȝ þat were made bituene ham at Ox- enforde and in þat same ȝere in lente was þe toun of Nor- h(a)mptou(~) take and þe folc slayn þat were þ(er)inne for enchesou(~) þat þey had ordeigned wilde fire for to haue brent þe citee of londou(~) // And in þe mounthe of May þat come next aft(er) vppon sent Pancras day was þe bataile at lewys þat is to seyn þe Wednesday bifore sent Du(~)stones day and þere was take king Henry him self and S(ire) Edward his sone and Richard. Erl of Cornewaile and many oþ(er)e lordes // And in þat same ȝer next sewynge S(ire) Edward þe kin ges sone brak oute of þe warde of sire Symound of Mounfort Erl of leycestr(e) at Hertforde and wente to þe ba- rouns of þe marche and þey vnderfenge him with muchel hono(ur). // And in þe same time. Gilbert of Clarence erl of Glou- cestr(e) þat was in þe warde also of þe forsaide Symounde þorugh þe comaundeme(~)t of king Henry þat wente f(ro)m him with gret herte for enchesoun þat he saide þat þe forsaide Gilbert was a fool in his counsaile.
