The tale of how King Arthur is fatally wounded in his battle with Mordred, and is bourne to Avyoun (Avalon). People do not know whether he lived or died. Red rubrication and an illuminated initial 'W' introduce the tale of how Arthur hands over his realm to Constantyne, his cousin's son. Red rubrication and an illuminated initial 'T' intoduce the tale of how the sons of Mordred war against Constantyne, but are slain by him. The written space is c.182 x 112 mm and the script is anglicana formata.

king Arthur had gadred and norisshed of diu(er)se landes and also þe noble knyȝtes of þe rounde table þat so muche were p(ra)y sed þorugh out al þe world weren þere slayn. and Arthur him self was wounded to þe deth. but he lete him ben born in a liter to Avyoun to ben heled of his woundes. and ȝit þe Britouns supposen þat he leueth in anoþ(er) lande and þat he shal come ȝet and conquere al Britaigne. but certes. þis is þe p(ro)phecie of Merlyn. he saide þat his deþ shulde ben dotous. and he sayde soth. for men þ(er)of ȝit haue doute and shulleþ for eu(er)more as me saith: for men witeþ nouȝt wheþ(er) þat he leueth or is ded // Arthour was born to Auyoun(~).þe xxij. ȝere of his regne af(tyr) þe incarnaciou(~) of oure lord Jhu(s) crist .vC. and xlvj ȝere / How king Arthour delyuerede þe Reaume to Constantyn þe sone of Cador his neuew . Capo. xxiiij. ixo. Whanne king Arthur wiste þat he mighte non leng(er) regne he lete come biforn him Constantin þat was Cadors sone erl of Cornewaile his cosyn: and him bitoke all his reaume and to him saide and bad him þ(er)of to ben king til þat he come aȝen for as muche as he had non heire of his bo- dy bigeten and gret harme was it þat so noble a king & so douȝty had no child of his body bigeten: but al þing þ(t) god wolde haue don moste be don(~). whos name be blessed wiþouten ende Amen.
