The tale of how King Arthur slays the Spanish Giant. Red rubrication and an illuminated initial 'A' introduce the tale of how King Arthur gets ready to fight the Romans. Line 27 the scribe has corrected his own error - 'þese' for 'þere'. The written space is c.182 x 112 mm and the script is anglicana formata.

seyn and herde // Arthur anon nome boþe wiþ him and wente p(ri)ueleche be nyghte þat non of his host it wiste and come on þe morwe erly to þe Geaunt and faught wiþ him strongly and at þe laste him slough. and Arthur bad Bedewere smyte of his heued and bringe it to þe host to shewe ham for a wond(er) for it was so gret and so huge // Whanne þey comen aȝen to þe host þey tolden wherfore þey hadde ben oute and sheweden to ham þe hede: and eu(er)y man was glad and ioyful. of þe worþy de- de þat king Arthur had done hire lord // And. Hoel was ful sorweful for his nece þat was so lost. and after whanne he hadde space he lete make a faire chapel of oure lady ouer Eleynes tumbe. How king Arthur ȝaf bataile to þe Emp(er)our in þe which bataile þe Emp(er)our was slayn. C.ao.xxiiij.vto.
